To find beauty in life is a goal sought by many, but found by few. Beauty is more than just a surface quality; it’s about our experiences, our connections, our respect for others and for our surroundings. That beauty—both aesthetic and experiential—is embodied in the work of Navajo photographer Mylo Fowler . Born and raised in the Navajo Nation in Arizona, Fowler belongs to four clans, two maternal and two paternal: Tábaahá (Edgewater); Kin?ichii’nii (Red House People); Honágháahnii (Ones Who Walk Around); and Naakai Dine’é (of the Mexican People).

Photographs have the power to tell captivating stories, forge connections, and inspire hope for a better future. Given photography’s role in shedding light on global struggles and triumphs, today’s photographers are tasked with amplifying stories from their communities and breaking through digital barriers to make an impact.
Today, we’re proud to introduce 2021’s #AdobeRisingStars of photography, who are more than ready to meet the challenge. Exploring themes ranging from conservation to cultural expression to racial identity and natural phenomena, these photographers are playing an important role in documenting a pivotal moment in our history. Their images reflect wonder, beauty, and resilience during a time of global change.
We’re thrilled to give our Rising Stars a warm welcome to the Lightroom community. Scroll down to learn more about their backgrounds, and keep a close eye on the Lightroom Instagram over the next few months for more of their work.
