Rising yields and, more recently, tax and regulatory concerns have created volatility in technology stocks, but the long-term earnings growth story remains unchanged. It’s key that investors diversify globally to make sure they maintain exposure to the structural winners of the decade ahead, across ideas like “The Next Big Thing” including 5G, fintech, greentech, and healthtech, stocks linked to the future of humans, and investing in stocks linked to digital subscriptions. Private markets can also offer better access to innovative early stage companies.
All of the net wealth generated by the global stock market over the past three decades can be accounted for by just 1.33% of companies, according to a 2019 study of the more than 62,000 companies traded on global stock markets since 1990.

We launch coverage on the European non-life insurance sector. We expect a three-year period of excess earnings growth, yet the sector is trading close to 10-year relative lows to the wider market, despite exhibiting earnings/dividend resilience. Our differentiated analysis identifies that a lower running yield headwind is far outweighed by the combination of underwriting margin improvement and excess premium growth.
In the first report of the series, UBS’s Global Economics analysts address the most important questions received from investors on the much debated topic of inflation. Our baseline expectation lands well below central bank targets early next year but we now see more upside than downside risk.
Trust is often not established in carefree times but in periods of adversity. The last year serves as a reminder of this very human trait. The COVID-19 pandemic taught us many lessons. One was certainly the importance of seamless, high-quality service regardless of circumstance. Most importantly, our clients must feel that we understand their concerns and needs, and that we take care of them in a genuine and personal way.
This is exactly what we’ve done – and looking back on a year as challenging as 2020, it’s even more gratifying to see client satisfaction increasing according to client surveys, including significant increases in our Global Wealth Management and Personal & Corporate Banking divisions this past year. So, what did we do to maintain and strengthen already close relationships with our clients?
In this Normalizing Black Wealth conversation, solutions to creating future wealth will be challenged as we rethink our current capital ecosystems. Black founders disrupting the fin-tech market will bring a new way of thinking about the interconnectedness of our systems, and how to confront inequities in access to financial education that drives longevity wealth outcomes. Our discussion is set to reimagine an outlook that ensures the next generation understands the foundations of creating wealth.
As we move the dialog forward, join UBS and CultureBanx to explore the long-term concrete actions with change agents, experts and thought leaders that are needed to guarantee a new normal of building Black wealth.
