A Hampshire man is being honoured by two relatives, who are taking on a five-day tandem cycling challenge, to raise money to help find a cure for brain tumours.

Philip Howard, 56, and his 28-year-old daughter, Abby Howard, are embarking on the 274-mile challenge, after losing Graham Green, from Havant, in Hampshire, to the disease.

Consultant antimicrobial pharmacist, Professor Philip Howard OBE, from Cookridge, in Leeds, has signed up to take part in Cycle 274 Miles in August to raise money for the charity Brain Tumour Research.

His daughter Abby, a carer for the charity Hft in Bristol, will be joining him on a Dawes Discovery Twin bike, which he bought through a bike to work scheme eight years ago.
