Last week's momentum that was driven primarily by supply-side has carried through to the early part of this week after US rig counts fell again.

Stateside curtailments will continue to make up a large part of the supply-side equation with US onshore production having now given up two full years of gains. It supports the market supposition that, even with a rebound in price, the capital investment that had already been tapering off in Q1 isn't flowing back quickly, suggesting the US industry will be in for a more subdued production recovery.  

Although the US curtailments are not mandated by the federal government or via the Texas Railroad, the sharp drop in US production lends more credibility than anyone might have expected that the US would make up for Mexico's reduced commitment under the April OPEC+ deal. The Russian oil ministry will be delighted by this fact and it should stave off the threat of OPEC+ disunity for now.

NEW YORK (AP) — The Sept. 11 memorial plaza will reopen to the public on July 4, more than three months after it was closed due to coronavirus, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum announced Tuesday.

Visitors will once again be allowed to approach the memorial pools that sit in the footprints where the twin towers used to stand, but the museum at the site remains closed. A plan for its reopening is in the works.

The memorial and the museum had been closed since March 13, with the water flowing into the pools turned off except for maintenance and the area roped off to keep people away from the panels of names listing those lost in the attacks.
