Talked to my friend at Mizuho - Michal Dick-best consumer guy I know. He reminds us $AMZN Chief Consumer Head left last yr opening the door for Jassy. A remind $SBUX $AAPL leaders where there were changes & successes. I’d add Jassy founded AWS & has been at the firm since 1997.

$GOOG $AMZN top line growth impressive but the most noteworthy thing to me is operating income beats at both. These guys/gals are finally figuring out how to profitably grow. Not to mention the FCF growth.

Something I've worried about for a while is higher commodity px's for consumer products cos. $MDLZ called out higher raw mats costs tonight - even as they beat and delivered w org growth and op margins. Great mgmt, execution - but something to watch going forward 4 many.

China industrial profits were for December +20.1% y/y suggesting $SPX EPS gains will surprise to the upside in 4Q/1Q. China’s profits lead $SPX EPS by 1Q with a 75% correlation.

NYSE & Nasdaq Short Interest data as of 1/15: $GME 123%, $DDS 83%, $BBBY 66%, $FIZZ 63%, $ASO 53%, $TR 45%, $PLCE 38%, $VIAC 20%. I think $VIAC is the only one i fundamentally think is worth the recent move - even as its move has been crazy.

Doing some homework on EV market - TAM will go from $162B in 2019 to $$802B by 2027. CAGR of 23%. Will be interesting to see if the 1075% gain in $TSLA from the March lows has this priced in or not. #EPS
